About
Who we are
Mira Creative Studio is a Swedish non-profit association — an ideell förening — based in Täby, north of Stockholm. We exist so that children, teenagers and young adults have a place where creativity, technology and community come together.
Our statutes say we work especially to create opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent young people, and that our activities are open to everyone who shares our values. Both halves of that sentence matter to us.
We are supported by our sponsor Mira Plus AB, and we are an independent association with our own board, members and finances.
Our vision
A world where every young person has a place to belong — to create, connect, inspire and grow.
Our mission
To build a safe, inclusive and inspiring community where autistic and neurodivergent children, teenagers and young adults — and everyone who wants to join them — can:
- express their creativity
- build meaningful friendships
- develop life skills
- discover their talents
- gain confidence
- prepare for greater independence
Our story
Mira Creative Studio was born from lived experience.
One of our co-founders is an IT architect, a health coach and the founder of Mira Plus — and a parent of three neurodivergent, creative daughters who see the world in beautiful and unusual ways.
Through that journey, and by listening to many other families, the same challenge kept coming up: it is hard to find social, creative activities where a child feels understood, accepted and able to belong.
So we decided to build one. Somewhere inclusive, creative and fun, where young people can express themselves, make friends, build confidence and grow — and where families feel supported and connected too.
Today, as four founders, we are building that place together.
What we stand for
Belonging
A safe and welcoming space where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.
Creativity
Imagination, self-expression and trying new things without fear of mistakes.
Respect
We treat each other with kindness, listen to different perspectives and celebrate our differences.
Growth
Learning, progress and supporting each other to become the best we can be.
Curiosity
We ask questions, explore ideas and stay open to new possibilities.
Inclusion
We celebrate diversity and make sure everyone has an equal chance to take part and shine.
The people behind it
Mira Creative Studio was started by a group of four founders with different creative passions — painting, crochet, jewellery making and digital art — who set out to build the kind of place they had been looking for and couldn't find.
Our board is a chair, a vice chair who also serves as secretary, and a treasurer. The association also has a youth representative, who brings younger members' perspectives to the board, suggests ideas for activities and helps welcome new young members.
We'll introduce ourselves properly here once the first activities are running.
